Back to School 2026 – Helping Children Keep Learning

For the fourth year in a row, Boca Helps Ukraine is running our Back to School initiative for children in Kherson. With your support, we purchased 500 backpacks filled with essential school supplies for students living on the front line of the war.

Kherson faces constant drone terror. Russian drone operators across the Dnipro river carry out what locals call a “human safari,” deliberately hunting civilians with explosive drones. Today the city experiences roughly 600–700 drone attacks every week.

Because of these attacks, most of the remaining residents - nearly all of the city’s roughly 60,000 people - spend much of their time in basements and underground shelters, sometimes for days or even weeks during heavy attacks. Many schools operate mostly online as students cannot safely attend classes in person.

In these conditions, even basic school supplies are difficult for families to obtain. These 500 school kits help children in Kherson continue their education despite living under constant drone attacks.

May/June 2025 - Bringing Sunshine and Hope

Because of your support, children in Kherson, Ukraine who spent over three years in shelters now finally have access to real sports equipment. Your donations to Boca Helps Ukraine provided balance pads, yoga blocks, and more — equipment that gave the kids a chance to move, play, and enjoy a moment of normal life again.

And that’s not all. We also brought 20 children with special needs to the sea for three unforgettable days. After years underground, they swam, played, laughed — and felt safe and free for the first time in a long while.
